Packing Up

The time is quickly approaching-we're frantically packing up the house to be ready for renters and packing up to be ready to travel across the world.
Rick's 6th year of residency will be spent in Hanover, Germany. Rick is doing his fellowship at the INI with Dr. Samii. But before our departure from the good ol' USA, we will be spending time with family in Utah.
And nothing like three little ones to help pack up the house.

50 mile backpacking trip

Rick went on a 50 miler backpacking trip with the young men from our church. And Matthew got to tag along for two days. Being squished between two girls, Matthew deserved some much needed "man-time" and daddy-time. I will briefly mention that one of the boys and leaders ate a live scorpion...on purpose...void of pinchers.

During the boys' absence, Chrissie, Jane, and I had a special time together. However, I kept things simple because we are in the throws of moving. One day we attempted to go horseback riding (apparently monday is a day off for ranchers) but ended up swimming. And per Chrissie's request, the next day, we walked (chrissie rode her bike) to the park, where we had a picnic and read books-she didn't even play on the jungle gym. We had such a lovely time eating fruit and reading.
Another treat for the week was Chrissie got to sleep in bed with me. And every night she brought some treasures to bed: a large wooden duck, a stuffed bear, lamb, and deer, and minature-sized plastic goats and lambs. I certainly enjoyed waking up to a goat in my toes. Or a deer over my shoulder. But I mostly enjoyed seeing her imagination at play.
