Remember the scene in The Sound of Music when Maria is inspired to make the von Trapp children outfits from her bedroom drapes? Well, I felt a little like Maria this past weekend (whether that is a good or bad thing I'm still not sure) as I decided to use drapery fabric to sew Chrissie a dress. Instead of Chrissie matching other children, however, her dress matched one of my skirts that my mother-in-law had made me (which I absolutely love). I'm still not sure if I'm crazy, cheesy, weird, or ten years old, but, I had so much fun making Chrissie a matching dress. And, of course, Chrissie loved her "so beautiful" new dress. The best part was Chrissie sitting in my lap squealing with delight as "we" sewed the finishing touches on her dress. I'm not a seamstress by any stretch, but, I'm sure enjoying my new little hobby.

YOU ARE SO A SEAMSTRESS:) Absolutely darling dress and I love that you are matching--there's only a short few year window that your kids will let you do that anyway, right?
A) You both looked absolutely darling on Sunday
B) I think you have made skills
C) Especially love the little cursive "c"
D) I wish I knew how to sew anything more than a button
E) Umm... so you'll teach me, right? :)
Vanessa that dress turned out sew cute! But I thought that you were making Chrissie and dress out of that fabric so that she would be matching with her Auntie Rebekah???
Can't wait to see you guys; hugs and kisses.
Amen to what Karyn said. I would pay you to make my daughter (I hope I get one) a dress...so that makes you a professional seamstress. The green with polka dots is so simple and classy.
Simply adorable. Love the dress, the picture, everything. It was so fun to hang out with you in Florida and to get to know Chrissie a little better. I hope you got my voicemail, but if not, thank you again for the card and the book. Packages are always very exciting! Take care.
