A phrase my dad has always said to the grandchildren, simply to tease; Chrissie now refers to him as the "silly papa."
And now I catch myself saying the same thing to my own kids when I see their cute cheeks, I can't help saying "where are my kisses?!" which makes them run and then I tackle them to the floor and smother them with kisses. (I also can't resist patting their cute naked buns, which is why Matthew now chases Chrissie, when she is in the nudity, trying to pinch her buns).
And when I see this picture of Matthew with his cheeks full of food and pink paint in his hair, I just want to tackle him and kiss those cheeks.
And in case you are wondering, he is not a girl. (Not that you were. But I thought I would clarify). Despite the comments I get all the time, which I find humorous, however, Rick has yet to see the humor. The other day, Rick came back from a regular Home Depot trip with the two kids and told me to please buy Matthew a football shirt or something because two people commented on his "two girls"....apparently that was the last straw for him. I told him I think its Matthew's hair (which I refuse to buzz, despite the constant pestering of my family), but, you see, Rick is never home long enough or early enough to help me cut Matthew's hair. And Matthew won't hold still for me. So, I only get occasional snips here and there. And his hair grows very fast.

I have a feeling that even if you dressed him in a football shirt, people would still think he was a girl - he's just a "beautiful" baby! Wish you lived closer so we could see you more often!
If it weren't Rick's birthday today I would tease him about his two girls. As it is I'll leave that to Scott Hardy.
We are SO SO excited to come see you guys at Christmas!
I think Matthew is adorable, in a very manly sort of way. Everyone thought Claire was a boy until she was nearly two, but for some reason that doesn't seem like such a big deal. She would probably love it, now that she's a "tom-boy."
I miss you guys, and your kids. Maybe we'll get to see you sooner rather than later?!
I hope you're feeling well.
Poor Rick is like, "SHUT UP! He is a boy! I have a son, dang it!"
But in all reality...boys that are sometimes mistaken as girls (bc they are just too pretty to be boys) when they are babies turn out to be gorgeous adults..at least that's my theory, anyway!
