Daniel Zinn Lochhead-September 26, 2012

(Photo taken three days before I had Daniel)
On Wednesday night at 11:11pm, Sept 26th we had a baby boy.
Once I knew I was in labor, we called my mom sometime after 10pm and left the house before she even got here.  Once we were at the hospital, ten minutes later our little Daniel was born: 7lbs 3oz, 20 in.  The labor/delivery was fast and intense.  My doctor didn't even make it.  The nurses were amazing and the residents did a great job.  Despite my previous refusal to allow a resident to deliver or have any association with my delivery-hypocritical, I know- but,to their credit, they did a great job!    Now why is this taking me a month to record...well, a few days after Daniel's birth, Jane poured water onto our laptop and fried it.  So a new computer is in the works.
The first month has been heavenly and I'm not ready to return to reality.  All I want to do is read to my kids and hold Daniel all day. I have an abnormal passionate love for newborns.  I can't put my newborns down-seriously.  I feel sad when I see them lying there all alone.  I love everything about newborns: their smell, their tucked in legs, their flailing arms when not tucked in, thier cries-oh their cries, their tiny bones, and how easily and willingly they snuggle right up to me.  And bless my mom for helping me so that I could just soak up our new little boy.  Matthew, Chrissie, and Jane are all attached as well. And give him hugs and kisses all day long.  Life is good.
Pictures of the first two days:

Photo above taken oments after he was born.  Please forgive that I'm half dressed. For some reason I'm always clueless to my dressing attire when in labor/delivery/post delivery.
Above: the intern who delivered me.  She is doing all of her "check up " that is typically done before the baby is born.   And the nurse is asking me all the questions they ask when you enter the hospital but they didn't have the chance until after I had baby Daniel.

And then Daniel gets all of his check up.  The nurse was great in letting me hold him for a long time before she took him for his work-up.

First Bath

Rick took Chrissie, Matthew, and Jane on a special date to the mall to get Daniel a present.
We're so happy to have this new baby apart of our family.

I have been WAITING in earnest for this post! Yay!!! Congratulations my friend, I am so thrilled for you!!! Glad you made it to the hospital, that had to have been awfully stressful and scary not knowing if you were going to make it. Thank heavens he stayed in long enough to be delivered in the safe confines of a hospital... even if it was with a resident ;)

And I'm not sure if something is just going askew with my laptop, but not one of your pictures is showing up? Just a blank square? I'd love to see Mr. Daniel. :)

Congratulations again my friend!
