Matthew's birthday began with a birthday breakfast including "hawk," (hot chocolate) his favorite drink.

Good morning Chrissie!
I love waking up to her (not just because of the hair). After Rick leaves in the morning, she crawls into bed with me, cuddles up into the small of my back, and plays with my hair. And then she wraps her arms around me and says, " I love you, mom."

I think Matthew's favorite part about his birthday was the balloons.

Chrissie and I made Matthew a tractor cake. It was disgusting, but, looked good.

Lately, I've noticed Matthew has become quite inclusive. He doesn't like anyone to be left out. If Rick is taking them on a walk, Matthew makes sure we ALL go (no resting for me!). The first thing he says in the morning when he sees me is "Where Jane?" and then "where daddy?"..."Where baby (Chrissie)?". Also, he loves it when I hold both Jane and him.
SIDE NOTE:

I love Chrissie's dress (thanks to my mother).
I absolutely love "old-fashioned" style clothing and I'm a sucker for anything smocked.
And I was so pleased she asked me to do her hair like "Lizbeth" (a character from her Kirsten books), which was two braids pinned on top of her head.

Looks like a fun birthday! As long as the cake looked good, that's all that mattered, right! A also love Chrissy's dress!
