Burgdorf Bahnhof

We rarely take the car into Hannover.  The kids love taking the train.  They ride their bike to the train station along with all the other residents of Burgdorf.  I love that people here ride their bikes more than their cars.  In the mornings we can hardly find a spot to lock our bike the lot is so full.  I see many elderly people riding their bikes to the grocery store and such.  Partly because they may not have a driver's license but mainly because it's such an active culture.

The Penny Markt is a small discounted grocery store.  It is where we buy last minute groceries and it also has a bakery attached to the outside where we always stop for a special treat.  Again I love that we can just hop on our bikes and in two minutes we are at a grocery store.  No hassling with getting in and out of the car.  And another way to help channel the kids energy.  The city has paths everywhere so that bikers can avoid riding along major roads.

The good ol' standing up position while he rides.  It just makes him go so much faster.

And finally we arrive at the train station to lock up our bikes and head into Hannover.

This is technically the back side of the station since we come from the west side.
