We decided a few months ago to take a family trip in honor of Rick graduating from residency. However, we realized June/July would be too busy with moving and family reunions. So we decided to take it early and to go to Hawaii in March. In addition, Rick found some very cheap flights out of Oakland, CA. Perfect! We could visit my parents! The highlight: horseback riding and golfing.
My dad gave the kids gum before church. He said, "when you go to church with Grandpa, you chew gum!" Big Mistake. Moments later Matthew dropped his gum in the crevice of the seat. It took a while to find it. Oddly enough my dad gave them more. And if they chewed too loudly during the meeting, I just sent them to Grandpa!
My mom and I had a horse riding lesson together. I love her. She was so excited to ride with me. It had been awhile since I had ridden, but, I sure missed it.
Chrissie was thrilled to finally ride a horse! She had watched me in Germany and had been anticipating the day when she'd finally be able to ride. Unfortunately in trying to restore my phone I've lost several pictures...(this is a recurring theme).
The moment Jane got to the barn she began looking for a unicorn, "Mom where's the unicorn?" Unfortunately, we couldn't find one. However, she quickly forgot it and loved the horses. She'd burst into giggles every time the horse trotted.
Then the girls went and got some pedicures. And then the boys went golfing with Grandpa. Seriously, could life get any better.

I can't wait to see your pictures from Hawaii!
